My name is Dean “Maverick” Ambrose. I was born in California. The “old guy” here, my love of motorcycles started when I was just five. The next door neighbor had a Harley with a sidecar and would take us kids for rides. I loved it! Wind in my face and freedom of the road. Ah the sounds of a motorcycle. The local dealership would let me sit on the bikes. I rode them all over the country in my young mind. I moved to Idaho when I was 13 in 1967. What a culture shock! Things were different here than in California especially in the 60s.. My first bike was a Honda 50 which I rode everywhere. Then moved up the Japanese ranks until marriage. Then the bikes were gone! When the kids were old enough to ride and get a bike, then I road again, in the dirt, not on the street. When the kids left, then I resumed street riding. I am now on my second Harley Davidson, a 2014 HD Street Glide Special FLHXS, my favorite bike so far. Keep riding, keep the wind in your face, and the rubber down.
